The Town of Midland is looking to retain a consultant to design and produce construction drawings for the Dominion Avenue reconstruction project in 2026 and 2027 as well as carry out Contract Administration and Inspection duties for construction during 2027 and 2028. The project will be separated into two phases. Phase 1 will include the reconstruction of Dominion Avenue from King Street to Fourth Street and Phase 2 will include the reconstruction of Dominion Avenue from Fourth Street to 840 Dominion Avenue. The design will include:
As part of the design the consultant is to verify the storm system needs for the areas along Dominion where storm sewers are not present and determine if a dedicated storm sewer is required or if alternative drainage methods would be adequate. Any existing drainage issues should be addressed during design. The Town will be undergoing upgrades to the Dominion Water Tower located at 755 Dominion Avenue in 2026 and 2027. Phase 2 of the Dominion Reconstruction Project will start once the water tower upgrades are completed. The proposed consultant shall incorporate upgrades to the water system up to the property line of the water tower location. During the design, a topographic survey will be required as well as a complete Geotechnical Investigation complete but not limited to boreholes and a soil analysis including chemical testing of the base material to determine suitable off site uses. Contract Administration shall include the coordination of all work between the contractor, the Town, and any other regulatory authorities as well as full time inspection. |
